Pocket city guide : Tarquinia

Tarquinia, Lazio, Italy

Perhaps you heard about the Etruscans.
Their origins are unknown, we just know that they were neighbors of the ancient romans and as neighbors, their relation with Rome was hate-love.
They gave Rome some emperors but they also fought with the romans till they disappeared.

Tarquinia is one of the most important places that were inhabited by the Etruscan people.
They believed that life after death was more important than life itself, that's why they used to build their houses with wood and graves digged in the stone (tufo stone).
Interesting.
Later, Tarquinia became an important Medieval place and the architecture is still the same. Visiting Tarquinia means jumping back to the past.
